Saturday, April 8th, 2017 was a big night. At the annual ACT-CO awards gala in Vaughan, Ontario, awards are given for all the major categories from Set Design to Acting and best production. It’s the party of the year with 45 theatre companies in attendance.
This year Chris Stolz won the award for Best Set Design, Musical!
The set design for Oklahoma was based on a simple concept: What if the set was built in 1906? And while we joked that the set should have won an award for “most flammable set”, the bare wood look looked simply brilliant under John Dalgleish’s beautiful lighting.
Congratulations to the other nominees and a big thank you to the ACT-CO for this honor!
