Fabrication | Stolz Productions

We are pleased to offer fabrication services for set pieces, custom props or magic effects.  We do both work and metal work in-house at our workshop.

When it comes down to it, it just has to work.  Goal number one is to ensure that everything we produce works each and every time.  This applies to everything from moving parts and electronics to simply choosing the right hinge for the job that will stand up to repeated use.  Everything is taken into account to ensure that you can focus less on the props and more on the performance.

Durability & Portability

When we build, we think ahead.  We think about poor cargo handlers, over enthusiastic stage crew and shows traveling in a vehicle that’s probably 2 or 3 sizes too small.  Our props are solidly built and ready to take on the challenges of touring and rough handling.

Built The Way We Designed It

Much of our fabrication work is a result of our design and consulting work.  Because the blueprints came from us, you know that the final product will be built exactly as it was intended.  When a prop was not originally conceived by us, we take great care to produce archtectural drawings and/or 3D renderings to ensure that all dimensions and moving parts look exactly the way you want them to look.

Specialty Props

There are several magic props for theatre productions that we have been known for producing.  Some of our more popular items include:

Beauty & The Beast | Chip Cart:  A tea cart which hides the actors body while the face is visible within the teacup (cup not included).  Ours is incredibly magical and will have the audience scratching their heads as they stare at this empty looking cart.

Beauty & The Beast | Rose:  Depending on your set design, our rose can either be sitting in a vase or floating in mid air.  One by one the petals fall on cue as operated by a single crew member.  In our version, there are no electronics to worry about.

Mary Poppins | Magic Nightstand:  This table looks empty while allowing objects or people to be passed through it for Mary’s Magic Bag and/or the Doll house effect.  We have a smaller version which can be put up against a wall, or a larger version that is more self contained.

Please note that we do not rent out props or set pieces at this time.
